Hallowe’en Party*

Achievements Of The Day

  1. Watch Tsonga vs Berrettini match from last night which Tsonga wins in style. He’s someone who I think hasn’t quite performed on a level commensurate with his early abilities. Would love to see him get some great results.
  2. Walk to gym in sunshine 🌞. Do an hour of Pilates at gym:
  3. Catch train to parents.
  4. Put Fluffball outside after his six breakfasts and two lunches. We have to move the sofa as he’s sleeping behind it, the lazy boy.
  5. Watch Grigor Dimitrov vs Dominic Thiem. Grigor wins in style: so happy for him. Would love to see Dimitrov really make something of all his potential. He’s in the group with Tsonga I think of players-who-haven’t-lived-up-to-their-potential. Would love him or Tsonga to win here. Domi looks tired and flat today but Dimitrov outplays him anyway.
  6. Have great long sleep till six o’clock.
  7. We haven’t had any trick or treaters yet πŸŽƒ πŸ‘» πŸ’€ πŸ§›β€β™€οΈ πŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈ πŸ§™β€β™€οΈ πŸ¦‰ πŸ¦‡ 🐱.
  8. Rafa playing tonight. Have my firestick here so we will watch him after dinner.
  9. It’s my favourite supper: spinach and mushroom bottomless quiche yay!

Happy Halloween everyone!

*1969. By Agatha Christie. Hercule Poirot detective novel.

What We Do In The Shadows*

For the first time in ages, make it to the gym this morning:

It feels so good to lift weights again. Don’t even know why I haven’t been to the gym for ages.

It’s a sunny day and enjoy my walk.

Start watching a very funny spoof documentary about a group of vampires πŸ§›β€β™‚οΈ who share a house in New Zealand: What We Do In The Shadows.

Watch Dominic Thiem beat Raonic in three sets.

My cleaner turns up which is good.

Watch Novak and now am watching Rafa yay. He got a bye in the first round so this is his first match in Paris.

In exciting news: we are visiting my brother in Abroad 21st to 28th November. Am so happy about this. Can’t wait to be in the mountains πŸ” and by the sea 🌊 again, and to see darling brother.

Despite my illnesses, I’m just a normal person: I need things to which to look forward, just like anyone else. And do I need a holiday!

Rafa playing well so far.

Supper is felafel, hummus, cucumber πŸ₯’ and spinach.

Right, my 🐐 needs me to concentrate on the tennis.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

*2014. Feature film. Written, directed by and starring Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Also stars Cori Gonzalez-Macuer and Jonny Brugh.

Hereditary*

Go to sleep about ten o’clock last night and sleep all the way through till six thirty this morning, which is good.

Cuddle my Fluffball and give him his third breakfast. He loves his many breakfasts. Hope he is OK as there is a lot of building work going on in the road so he’d better not get mixed up in it.

Have lovely walk with Dolly. It’s the first time I’ve been out of the house since Saturday and it feels good to have a walk. Kiss and cuddle my Dolly.

Mum drops me back at the flat and I watch the first two sets of Tsonga’s match. Then have a small sleep.

We have an election to which to look forward on 12th December. Great.

Edit a bit more of my novel.

Now am watching Hereditary to get self in the mood for Halloween. Am on own in flat so hope it’s not too scary.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

*2018. By Ari Aster. Feature film. Stars Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne and Alex Wolff. Directed by Ari Aster.

The Way Through The Woods*

Sleep from 8.30pm all the way through to 5.45am.

At breakfast time, give Fluffball his second breakfast:

Edit the first hundred pages of my novel.

Rest.

Watch an episode of Inspector Morse whilst knitting.

Have managed some eating today: toast with lemon curd for breakfast; a ginger biscuit; some pineapple 🍍; toast with cottage cheese and avocado πŸ₯‘ for lunch; baked potato πŸ₯” with cottage cheese for supper.

Now am going back to bed.

Have to be better by tomorrow as am walking my darling Dolly. Looking forward to seeing her very much.

Fluffball is sleeping on the piano stool. Dad is at chess β™Ÿ; Mum is at literary society πŸ“š. Looking forward to returning to bed in a minute.

Haven’t been sick again since yesterday lunchtime which is good.

Happy Monday everyone!

*1992. By Colin Dexter. The tenth Inspector Morse novel, set in Oxford. Received the 1992 Golden Dagger πŸ—‘ Award.

Curiosity Thrilled The Cat*

Writing this from the car. Mum picks me up. Am up all night with vomiting bug. Really ill. One of my Pilates chums has it.

Is terrible feeling when there is nothing left to throw up and there is just the yellow stuff coming out.

Horrible Macmillan won’t give me a nurse: it seems they don’t care how ill I am or want to know.

Saw my chap briefly last night but he went home as I couldn’t stop being sick everywhere.

So am missing the tennis.

Wake up this morning and massively sick again and phone Mum and she picks me up.

It’s a lovely sunny day and I will see my orange fluffy nurse soon.

He is hopefully outside the darling Fluffball.

Happy Sunday everyone!

*2011. By Sofie Kelly. A magical cats mystery.

The Madness Of Crowds*

Wake up at 2.30am this morning which is the worst yet.

Catch train to parents at 7am or so.

Cuddle my Fluffball and give him his third breakfast.

Teach The Hundred and One Leg Circle in Pilates. They go well and teacher is pleased with me.

It’s all spooky at the Zone now:

Have lunch with my friends after the class.

Fall asleep at 1.30ish and have just woken up at 5.45pm.

Read my new Douglas Murray book which is excellent:

Happy Friday everyone.

*2019. By Douglas Murray. Non-fiction.

New Chap

All change here

I’ve met a man

He’s lovely and

I like him so much

I like to chat with him and then

We chat and laugh and chat again

He puts strong arms

Around me now

I’m not alone

It feels so good

No longer lost in deep, dark woods.

Seb is gone

And that’s OK

There’s someone new

Oh how I pray

It lasts and lasts and lasts and then

I have no need of other men

He is big

And he is kind

He kisses me

He doesn’t mind

The cancer hasn’t put him off

I’m grateful now.

Now life is good.

Floral Depravity*

Have lovely walk with Dolly:

It is sunny and warm: quite different from the constant rain 🌧 of yesterday, which is good.

We pop in to the farm on the way home and how autumnal the trees are now:

Mum drives me back to the parental home and we sit in the garden with Fluffball:

Have a long sleep from 2pm to 5pm which I need as I wake up at 3am this morning again and watch When Heroes Fly and read my Tarot And Astrology book which is fascinating:

This morning Facebook pulls up a picture from six years ago:

It is baby Fluffball when he was smaller than a Cup A Soup.

Now we’re watching the last Gardeners’ World of the Season which is very sad.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

*2015. By Bethany Allen. A Bouquet Bridal Shop mystery, book 3, set in Virginia.

When Heroes Fly*

Wake up at five o’clock this morning and start watching When Heroes Fly.

Pull a card for the day:

It’s The Hierophant: the card for my sign, Taurus. Also the card of teachers.

Wash hair in bathπŸ˜† πŸ›€.

Meet @MadeByMaggie for lunch. It is lovely to see her.

Come home and unload washing machine and hang clothes on the airer . Then have sleep. My cleaner has been and flat is clean and tidy. Am curled up on my sofa drinking lemon πŸ‹ squash.

Watching When Heroes Fly and looking forward to walk with Dolly tomorrow and to seeing my Fluffball. Going to have an early night. Am looking forward to it.

Happy Monday everyone!

*2018. By Samuel Stewart Hunter and Luisa Plazas, Omri Givon and Amir Gutfreund. Directed by Omri Givon. Stars Michael Aloni, Tomer Capon, Ninet Tayeb and Nadav Netz.

Death Is Now My Neighbour*

Wake up at 3am. Finish reading the first Knaussgard book A Death In The Family. It’s wonderful. Looking forward to reading the other books in the series now.

Curled up under my furry blanket on the sofa watching Morse and drinking Diet Coke.

Don’t feel well at Barre and only manage half the class.

Dad picks me up and drives me back to the flat.

Watch AndyΧ³s match from yesterday, then Stan’s semi-final then Andy’s semi-final. Tomorrow’s final is Stan vs Andy. Am looking forward to it.

Need to unpack suitcase 🧳 and bags from holiday but they can wait till tomorrow.

Have a sleep this afternoon which helps a bit. Very tired. Will probably go to bed soon.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1996. By Colin Dexter. The twelfth Inspector Morse novel.
