The Garden Murder Case*

Today I do Barre over Zoom which is hard work but fun.

Sit in the garden and read my book with Dad.

Have lunch and then take a turn about the garden with Mum.

We see the auriculas:

Euphorbia:

And the tulips 🌷 under my window:

Meditate and have a long sleep till 5.15pm. Wake up and have an apple 🍎 and coffee β˜•οΈ.

Whilst I am sleeping, my lovely trainer drops round a small Pilates ball; a yoga band and a woven stretchy band. It’s so kind of her. Now I can use these in Barre and Personal Training.

Fluffball is in now and sleeping on top of my blanket:

Am writing this on my bed. The panther is lying on my pillow: curled up asleep.

Now I must have my bath πŸ›€.

Fluffball just opens my closed bedroom door and is now in here with me. He sits underneath my window.

Happy Monday everyone!

Tulip Fever*

Today I have my weekly Zoom chat with my besties at ten o’clock. It is good to see them.

Go for a walk with Mum to Frogmore Lakes where we see geese, ducks πŸ¦† and a swan 🦒. We also see a coot on her nest.

Mum picks some of the red and yellow tulips 🌷:

Have lunch and a sleep. When I wake up I sit in the garden with Dad and read my Patricia Highsmith biography for a bit.

Pull the Ace of Wands from the Crow Tarot which stands for new beginnings but struggle to think to what it refers in lockdown.

Fluffball is in now and having his supper. Am lying on my bed and the panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my shoulder.

We have English asparagus tonight yay but first I must have my bath πŸ›€.

Happy Sunday everyone!

The Stranger*

Last night we watch an Orson Welles film about a Nazi Hunter called The Stranger. It’s on Netflix so maybe give it a go.

This morning do my Barre 🩰 class on Zoom and it’s good to see my lovely teacher.

Fluffball comes to sit with me in my bedroom which is kind of him.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep.

Wake up and find this person in the house:

We watch my brother talking about a play over Zoom which is exciting.

Now my parentals are in yet another Zoom meeting. Zoom has taken over our lives.

Am going to have my bath πŸ›€ and then find some tennis 🎾 to watch. Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther is sleeping at the foot of my bed. Every so often he twitches an ear. Maybe he is dreaming.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1946. Feature film. Stars Orson Welles and Edward G. Robinson. Directed by Orson Welles.

The Cherry Blossom Murder*

Last night we have a Zoom dinner with my parental friends which is fun. We have vegetable curry.

So today I do my Pilates class over Zoom and then go for a walk around the garden with Mum. We see the cherry blossom, apple blossom and pulsatillas – all pictured.

We have lunch and then I meditate and sleep. Wake up and it is raining for the first time in ages.

Fluffball is in and sleeping as you can see in the picture. This morning he is out with us in the garden.

I need to have my bath πŸ›€ and then we can watch some tennis 🎾 on Eurosport and then I think it is vegetable curry again for supper tonight.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther sits on the windowsill watching the rain.

Happy Friday everyone!

Dial M For Murder*

Last night we watch Dial M For Murder which is one of my favourite Hitchcock films. In fact, it’s one of my favourite films. It is wonderful and on Netflix. Urge you to watch it.

Today do Personal Training over Zoom. Pack a lot of stuff in and my trainer is pleased with me.

Cyclezone have added another Zoom Pilates class tomorrow at 11am so I sign up for that.

It is warm so we sit and read our books in the garden before lunch, and then have lunch in the garden.

Here are the tulips 🌷 underneath my window. They are meant to be pink and purple and of course they’re not, but I think they’re beautiful:

Meditate and have a long sleep till almost five o’clock. Then have coffee β˜•οΈ and melon 🍈 and do my Tarot For Growth April post.

We have a Zoom dinner with my parental friends again tonight. We are having curry so need to make Raita after my bath πŸ›€.

Haven’t seen my Fluffball all day. He has been out in the sunshine.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther sits on the windowsill looking out over the garden. Every so often, the tip of his tail twitches.

Happy Thursday everyone!

*1954. Stars Ray Milland and Grace Kelly. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

To Catch A Thief*

So last night we watch To Catch A Thief which is wonderful. Beautiful shots of the French Riviera – will we ever go there or anywhere ever again. Grace Kelly is stunning and looks so young and has amazing dresses.

This morning we do Barre 🩰 over Zoom and then I have a Zoom chat with my Barre chums which is lovely.

Have lunch, meditate and have a long sleep till five o’clock.

Fluffball has just come in covered in bits of the garden but when I try to brush him, he escapes under the dining room table. Will tackle the mess once he is lying down.

We also have flea treatment pills to give him but they are enormous so Mum is going to cut them into quarters and try to get four pieces of pill down his throat.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther lies next to me, grooming himself. He rasps his flank with his rough tongue.

I need to have my bath πŸ›€ now.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

*1955. Feature film. Stars Cary Grant and Grace Kelly. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

The Pumpkin Eater*

Last night we watch The Pumpkin Eater which is a depressing tale of a woman who has too many children, depression and an unfaithful husband, written by John Mortimer’s first wife Penelope. Increasingly: I feel that I don’t like films which aren’t murders or Hitchcock.

Today we go for a walk at Frogmore Lakes and see ducks πŸ¦†, geese and a swan 🦒. It is beautiful there.

Have a long sleep till 5.15pm which is good.

I miss my life – not because it was perfect which of course it wasn’t – but because it was mine. I miss seeing my friends at gym classes and my bits of independence, spending half the week at the flat. I wonder if I will ever regain any independence. Am grateful that am with my parents and Fluffball but it’s not good for me to have no independence.

Here is Fluffball at lunchtime:

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther sits on the windowsill watching the garden. The tip of his tail twitches.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

*1964. Feature film written by Penelope Mortimer. Stars Anne Bancroft and Peter Finch. Directed by Jack Clayton.

Spellbound*

Last night we watch Spellbound which is wonderful.

This morning do my Barre 🩰 class over Zoom, which works pretty well. It is good to see my lovely teacher.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep.

Here are Mum’s seedlings 🌱:

They are:

  1. Coriander
  2. Gardener’s Delight tomatoes
  3. Tigerella tomatoes
  4. Green Zebra tomatoes
  5. Yellow cosmos
  6. Pink zinnias
  7. Orange zinnias
  8. Blue morning glory

Fluffball is in now:

Mum washes my hair over the sink.

I still need to do my Tarot For Growth April post. Am lying on my bed with my hair wrapped up in a towel. The panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my shoulder.

Happy Monday everyone!

*1945. Feature film. Stars Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

The Murder Tree*

Have a Zoom chat with my besties at ten o’clock this morning. It is good to see them.

Then go for a walk with Mum up to the cows. They have not arrived yet: they will be there after the calves are born. We see this tree:

We also see a jay. I forgot to mention that yesterday we saw two long-tailed tits on the bird feeder: “little pink lollipops” as Mum describes them.

Then we have lunch in the garden. Apparently this is the last hot day for a while.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have my coffee β˜•οΈ and mango πŸ₯.

Fluffball is in now:

Tonight we have a treat: Spellbound was on television this afternoon so we can watch that.

Am sitting in the living room with parentals and Fluffball to have some company for a bit.

The parentals are arguing about whether and when to clear out the shed.

Am at one corner of the sofa and Mum is at the other corner. The panther lies between us.

It’s OK if you are struggling to get through the days in quarantine. Am just taking it one day at a time and making my way through it.

Happy Sunday everyone!

*2013. By Alan Veale. Murder mystery novel.

The Shy Tulip Murders*

I wake up and then do my Pilates class on Zoom. It is good to see my lovely teacher. I am determined to regain my fitness: have Barre over Zoom on Monday and Wednesday.

We have lunch in the garden. The tulips 🌷 have started to open and they are meant to be pink and purple, but as you can see, some of them are red:

Meditate and sleep. When I wake up I sit in the garden and read my book. Now my parents are talking to their friends on Zoom.

Today’s card is perfect for lockdown. It’s the Hermit who stands for contemplation and solitude:

I’m writing this lying on my bed. The panther lies next to me, resting his head on his front paws. Every so often he flicks an ear or twitches the tip of his tail in his sleep.

Now I must have my bath πŸ›€.

Happy Saturday everyone!
