Game, Set and Murder*

Work hard at Pilates this morning.

The sunflowers 🌻 and sweet peas are flowering:

It has been raining on and off all day.

We watch Chris Evert vs Martina Navratilova in the 1978 Wimbledon Final. As well as the white balls and wooden rackets 🏸, we notice how quiet and well behaved the crowd are. There’s no shouting, banners or flags. The quality of commentating is so much better than it is now: Dan Maskell and the others describe what is happening on the Court without irrelevant asides.

Fluffball comes in and I give him his supper but he tells Mum that he hasn’t been fed. He is not a very truthful person.

Now we are going to watch Venus vs Lindsay Davenport. Am on the grey sofa and the panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my purple blanket.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Match Point For Murder*

Work hard at Booty Band this morning although don’t wear the band for half the class as back Still Hurts.

It is pretend Wimbledon now so we start watching Roger vs Rafa in the 2008 final. It is so good to see the grass.

Mum’s friend visits after my sleep and we sit in the garden. It is cold and windy.

Fluffball is in now. He is much better and the fur is growing back on his face, so that’s a relief.

Now we are going to continue watching Roger vs Rafa and then the BBC has an evening Wimbledon programme which I think will be Sue Barker interviewing people.

I’m sitting on the grey sofa. The panther sits on the spotty sofa, gazing out of the window over the garden.

Happy Monday everyone!

Death Serves An Ace*

Have my weekly Zoom chat with my best friends. Then go for a walk with Mum in the woods in Aldenham. We see these horses:

There is a sinkhole in our road:

We watch the third place play-off: James Ward vs Cameron Norrie – and then meditate and sleep.

Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and a pear 🍐.

Chat to brother over Zoom.

Now it is the final of the tournament which is Dan Evans vs Kyle Edmund.

It’s been raining on and off all day. Fluffball is in now:

Am watching the tennis with Mum. We are sitting on the grey sofa. The panther lies on the floor at my feet.

Tomorrow the BBC Wimbledon coverage starts with the Rafa vs Roger 2008 final – yay!

Happy Sunday everyone!

The Fast And The Furriest*

Barre is hard work this morning even though the weather is not so hot anymore. Chat to my teacher and friends on Zoom afterwards.

We watch Andy Murray playing Dan Evans in the singles semifinal at lunchtime. Dan wins. In exciting news: shell some peas – the first peas of the summer.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭.

Fluffball is in now:

Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski are playing Dan Evans and Lloyd Glasspool in the finals of the doubles. Am sitting with Mum on the grey sofa and the panther lies between us, resting his head on my lap.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Out Of Circulation*

Suzy visits last night and it’s great to see her. We sit out in the garden till 8.45pm.

This morning go for a walk with Mum in Aldenham and then a drive down winding country lanes. My Spin friend visits and it’s good to see her.

Have lunch in the garden, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭.

Do my Tarot For Growth June and have my bath 🛀.

Fluffball is lying on the marble floor in the hall to keep cool. This weather is too hot for him.

Now we are watching Jamie Murray playing doubles in the Schroeders Battle of the Brits. There is no crowd and no ball boys or girls: the players have to pick up the balls themselves.

Am sitting on the grey sofa and the panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head in my lap.

Happy Friday everyone!

The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern*

Work really hard at Barre this morning. My back still hurts. It is hot again today – thirty one degrees.

Have lunch outside in the shade. The panther stretches out in the sun next to me and rasps his flank with his rough tongue.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and melon 🍈.

Parentals go next door for a drink. Kyle beats Andy in a match tiebreak. It is good to have some tennis 🎾 to watch. Am not feeling well: a combination between my cancer drugs and the heat I suspect.

Fluffball is in now and stretched out, trying to cool down. He looks unhappy.

Dad is out at a meeting so am watching Gardeners’ World with Mum.

Shielding is going to continue till 1st August. There are things that I can’t imagine ever wanting to do again: such as going on public transport. Wonder what life will look like in August.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Murder At The Cat Show*

Work hard at Pilates this morning. It is hot.

Then Katie from Mind visits and we sit in the garden and watch the birds. We see baby blue tits and great tits, starlings and the Great Spotted Woodpecker. The heron flies over.

We have lunch in the garden and then go for a drive with Mum through Shenley and past Sopwell House.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and melon 🍈.

Finally there is some tennis 🎾: Jamie Murray has organised a tournament so am watching that with Mum with the fan on. Fluffball was sitting with us but has moved off. The panther lies on the floor at my feet.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The Confessions Of Frannie Langton*

Work hard at Booty Band class on Zoom this morning. My back still hurts so don’t put on the band until we go down to the floor.

Then my Aunty visits. It is lovely to see her. She brings me a book:

It’s a Gothic Murder mystery and is ever so good.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭. Sit in the garden and read book. The other poppies are flowering now:

Fluffball visits me in the garden and does rolling. Now we are inside and he’s resting under my dressing table.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther sits on the windowsill, gazing out over the garden. The tip of his tail twitches.

Happy Monday everyone!

*2019. By Sara Collins. Novel.

Meows, Magic and Murder*

Have my Zoom chat with my besties this morning. Then go for a walk with Mum to Shenley Park. After that we drive to Round Bush to pick up the hanging baskets (See above) and bedding plants.

Spend some time with Fluffball in the garden.

Come home, have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭. Read my book.

Still need to have my bath 🛀 and do my Tarot For Growth June post. Am lying on my bed writing this. My nausea is bad but my back feels a bit better. The panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my shoulder. Stroking the soft back of his neck, I wait for change.

Happy Sunday everyone!

*2015. By Madison Johns. Lake Forest Witches Book 1.

Mendel’s Dwarf*

Barre is tough this morning but I think back is getting a bit better.

Start reading new Simon Mawer book Mendel’s Dwarf. It’s great so far but then this is the eighth book of his I’ve read and they’ve all been good.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and a pear 🍐.

We have a visitor this afternoon in the garden and it’s good to see her and to have a distraction for an hour or so.

Then we speak to brother in Abroad.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post.

Fluffball has come to sit with me in my bedroom. He’s under my dressing table. I love him so much.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther sits on my windowsill, staring out at the garden.

Happy Saturday everyone!
