The Cat Who Dropped A Bombshell*

Am brave at my cancer treatment this morning. It is stressful having the blood tests, Zoladex and Fulvestrant bum injections all in one session, especially as Mum is not allowed in with me. Also have to wear a mask now and find it hard to breathe in there.

Then go for a drive with Mum.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and grapes 🍇.

A Pilates chum visits and we sit in the garden. It is so good to see her. Then one of my Sunday Morning Chat Crew comes round for a brief visit on his way home.

Fluffball is in now as you can see. I love my precious angel.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther lies on the floor at my feet.

Happy Friday everyone!

The Salisbury Poisonings*

We finish watching The Salisbury Poisonings last night which is excellent. Recommend it. It’s on the BBC iPlayer.

Do my Personal Training over FaceTime this morning. We miss out back as I seem to have hurt it a lot. Work hard and trainer is pleased with me. We spend a long time stretching at the end of the session in an attempt to help back recover.

My friend is meant to visit me after training but she doesn’t as it’s pouring with rain. She will come tomorrow instead.

Fluffball comes in, damp, having scratched his eye and with oil on the back of his neck from lying under a car. Silly Fluffy.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭. Finish reading The Gospel Of Judas. It is really good.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post. Am lying on my bed – my back doesn’t hurt when I’m lying down as the muscles are relaxed. That is what my trainer says. The pain is worst when standing up. Don’t understand how have injured self so badly.

The panther sits on the windowsill, looking out over the garden. The tip of his tail twitches.

We are having spaghetti for supper tonight.

Happy Thursday everyone!

*2020. TV miniseries. Stars Rafe Spall, Anne-Marie Duff, Judah Cousin and Annabel Scholey. Directed by Saul Dibb. Written by Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn.

The Cat Who Sniffed Glue*

Work really hard at Pilates On The Big Ball this morning. We haven’t used the big balls for ages and it’s great to have them back.

Katie from Mind visits and we sit in the garden. It is good to see her: much better than just chatting on the phone. The baby Blue tits fly back and forth from the feeders to the hedge.

Have lunch in the garden: it’s a warm, sunny day. Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭 and read my book in the garden.

Come in at six o’clock and we give Fluffball his allergy pill: vet tells Mum to double his dose again. We give him half his flea pill and will give him the other half of his flea pill later.

He has a big patch of oil on the back of his neck from sitting under Dad’s car. We will have to clean that off him once he’s eaten his supper.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post and now it is suppertime. Am sitting on the grey sofa and the panther rests his heavy head in my lap.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

The Lüneberg Variation*

It’s Booty Band class this morning. Teacher tells me not to use the band for legs as my lower back Still Hurts. Put the band on once we go down on the floor for abs. It’s a tough, sweaty class as it’s hot today.

Mum and the gardener put all the new plants in. Here are Mum’s photos of the garden:

Curiouser and curiouser: the piece of squirrel tail has disappeared. Wonder who has taken it and why.

Have lunch in the garden, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and a pear 🍐.

We have a visitor this afternoon in the garden, which is lovely. Sit on the swinging chair with Mum and the panther, who rests his heavy head in my lap. Fluffball comes to see us and does rolling.

Now Fluffball is in:

We talk to brother over Zoom. At long last have finished knitting his scarf. Photo to follow.

Dad is playing chess ♟ now so am going to watch Gardeners’ World with Mum.

Happy Monday everyone!

*1993. By Paolo Maurensig. Mystery novel featuring a giant outdoor chessboard.

The Squirrel On The Train*

Something unpleasant has happened in the garden: a squirrel has lost a piece of his tail:

It is possible that he had an encounter with next door’s cat, who has been known to kill squirrels. Or maybe he had a fight with another squirrel. Let’s just hope that what remains of the squirrel is alive and well.

It is a warm, sunny day. Go for a walk with Mum in Shenley Park.

Come home, have lunch in the garden, meditate and sleep.

Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭.

Sit in the garden in the sunshine and finish Prague Spring.

Do Tarot For Growth June post.

Now it is nearly suppertime so must post this.

Fluffball is in:

He sits with us in the garden earlier.

Am lying on my bed writing this and the panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my shoulder.

Happy Sunday everyone!

The Cat Who Sang For The Birds*

Tough Barre class over Zoom this morning but it’s good.

Then we pick up the bedding plants from a local nursery – Mum has ordered and paid for them over the phone:

Have lunch in the garden. The weather has turned warm and sunny again.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and a pear 🍐: the new fruit and vegetables have arrived from the greengrocer.

We have some visitors in the garden. It is so good to see them. There are a few drops of rain but it’s mostly sunny. Sit on the swinging chair with Mum and the panther lies on the ground next to me, watching the great tits and magpies on the bird feeders. The tip of his tail twitches.

Mum finds Fluffball outside the front of the house. He’s in now but has been scratching his allergy patch:

We are having artichokes this evening but first I need to do my Tarot For Growth June post and have my bath 🛀.

Fluffball has just come into my bedroom to be with me. He is having a rest under my dressing table.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1998. By Lilian Jackson Braun. Book 20 in The Cat Who series of mystery novels.

The Clematis Tree*

The clematis by the front door is flowering:

Go for a walk with Mum and the panther to Frogmore lakes. The panther strides beside me so I can stroke him. We see these roses:

We see a mother coot and her babies:

One of the babies loses his mum and squeaks a lot till she finds him.

The water lilies are flowering:

After our walk we go for a drive but the road we want to take is closed so we don’t see Sopwell House and the donkeys.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep.

Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and melon 🍈 and read Prague Spring which is good.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post.

Fluffball is in now and his allergy patch is starting to look better.

Tonight we are having cauliflower risotto and spinach and mushroom bottomless quiche.

Happy Friday everyone!

*2000. By Anne Widdecombe. Novel.

The Day Of The Jackal*

Painventory

  1. Shoulders: have had problems on and off with shoulders over the years and they both hurt now. Mum has weak shoulders too so it’s congenital. Probably from Barre or Pilates this time.
  2. Lower back: muscle pain from Barre or Pilates.
  3. Inner thigh: have pulled something. Trainer says it is from side double leg lifts in Barre.
  4. Chest: muscular pain from Personal Training today.

So: work hard at Personal Training this morning and trainer is pleased with me. She says that if I have a day off tomorrow – and walking counts as a day off – everything should be better by Barre on Saturday. So I will report back then.

Have lunch and then go for a drive with Mum up through Shenley to Well End which takes us to the back of Borehamwood so we turn round and return the way we came.

Meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and melon 🍈. Then help Mum make supper.

Do my Tarot For Growth June post.

Fluffball is in now and is in my bedroom under my chair. I can hear the licking sounds of him cleaning himself. The allergy patch on his face is looking a bit better.

The panther sits on the windowsill, looking out over the garden. It has been raining and the sky is grey.

Tonight we are going to finish watching The Day Of The Jackal which we started a couple of days ago. It is wonderful.

Happy Thursday everyone!

*1967. By Frederick Forsyth. Thriller.

Prague Spring*

Do Barre over Zoom which is hard work and good.

Go out in the garden with Mum. The panther stares into the pond: perhaps looking for frogs, newts or fish.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee ☕️ and an apple 🍎.

Finish reading Swimming to Ithaca and am about to start Prague Spring:

Fluffball is in now. It is raining. Here he is on his pink chair:

Do my Tarot For Growth June. Need to have my bath 🛀. The rain batters against my windows. We are having spaghetti for supper tonight.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

*2018. By Simon Mawer. Political and historical thriller with dashed of espionage.

The Mango Murders*

Pilates at 10.30am is great. Chat to my teacher afterwards and she says she intends to keep teaching Barre and Pilates on Zoom for the foreseeable future. This is great for me as am Shielding and unlikely to be allowed back to the studio for a while.

We keep Fluffball in from lunchtime as Mum has to take him to the vet at 3.45pm and he has a habit of disappearing and perhaps travelling further afield in the afternoon.

At the vet, Emma gives Fluffball a steroid injection and says that she thinks his face looks a bit better. Mum has to wait for Fluffy in the car: a nurse takes him to the surgery in his basket and then she and Emma the vet deliver him back to Mum. Brave Fluffball. Really hope he recovers soon.

He is in now:

Meanwhile: I meditate and sleep and then have coffee ☕️ and mango 🥭. We talk to my brother in Abroad.

Do my Tarot For Growth June and then Mum washes my hair over the sink. Am lying on my bed and the panther lies next to me, resting his heavy head on my shoulder.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
