The Searcher*

Here I am with my cousin’s new puppy who I met yesterday. He’s a whippet and at the moment he’s very soft and velvety, although his fur will become coarser. He seems very sweet and good-natured.

I go to bed about seven o’clock last night and then wake up at half past eight. I’m confused as to whether or not I’ve slept till the next morning. It turns out that I haven’t. Mum gives me my pills and I wake up at about six o’clock this morning, have my breakfast and then return to sleep till half past seven.

Do a recording of a Pilates class that my lovely teacher sent me, so although they’re all at the studio without me, at least I’m exercising.

Go up to the farm with Mum and we purchase some food: marmalade, fudge and coffee ice cream 🍨. We also visit the greengrocer and buy a pineapple 🍍amongst other things. It’s too busy for me to accompany Mum into the shop so I don’t know what else is in the two bags of fruit and vegetables.

Card of the Day is Justice from my gorgeous Neon Moon 🌙 Tarot Deck, given to me by some friends and cousins.

Meditate 🧘‍♀️ and sleep, but not for long enough. Sit in garden 🪴 with Mum whilst she plants the summer flowers in the hanging baskets: geraniums and Busy Lizzies.

Then it’s my bath 🛀 followed by watching Andy Murray’s First Round match from yesterday.

Then we go out to look for Fluffball and find him in the hedge at the front of the house. Picking him up, I carry him through to his bedroom whilst Mum closes all the doors and windows.

I’m just going to post this and then go to sleep.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Concern For The Nervous Disposition Of Whippets*

Wake up at six o’clock this morning and have my breakfast. Then go back to sleep until Mum wakes me up at quarter past nine.

It’s another hot 🥵 sunny day. I have a special visitor:

It’s So Good to see my Gandalf. Kiss and cuddle him. He is limping quite badly because of his arthritis and his owner had just been at the vet, collecting a stronger medication for him – poor boy.

Do Pilates and work really hard. There are just three of us in the class – the most advanced ones – so we do Difficult Moves using the roller.

Mum’s friend is here after their walk so chat to him and have lunch in the garden 🪴.

There is pandemonium as the new fridge arrives: the old one died aged forty one. Here is new one:

Meditate 🧘‍♀️ and sleep, but not for long enough. Wake up and watch Dan Evans playing the new Australian, Popyrin.

Receive a message from my Agent that she has just read the Memoir and she loves it so much that she didn’t want it to stop. So it looks like you’re going to receive another book from me after all.

Go to my aunt and uncle’s house to meet the new puppy. He is a whippet called Teddy:

He is soft and velvety and seems very friendly.

Now am home and we have captured Fluffball and am going to sleep.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Astrology And Cosmology In The World’s Religions*

Sleep from eight o’clock last night till almost seven o’clock this morning. Manage a protein drink 🥤 on awakening and then toast and marmalade at eight o’clock. The swallowing problem has lessened thank G-d. Write two pages of Memoir and then read Heavy Weather. It’s so good to be transported to Blandings and the Empress 🐖 🐷.

Order the whole Blandings series.

Work hard at Pilates at nine fifteen and then chat to my teacher and chums.

It is raining 🌧 all morning. Have a lovely visitor: darling Gandalf. It’s so good to see him. Look:

Gandalf

Have a scone with goat 🐐 cheese and some amazing green soup that Mum made for me: spinach, broccoli 🥦, asparagus, garlic 🧄, onion 🧅 and potato. This is success!

Meditate 🧘‍♀️ and sleep. Wake up and have a mango 🥭 and coffee ☕️ 🍨 which slides down throat without hurting.

Book in a couple of Tarot Readings 🔮 for new clients.

Fluffball comes in and goes to sleep. My precious angel 😇.

Finally hang my In Bloom picture. Isn’t it wonderful. The artist 👨‍🎨 has synaesthesia so sees music as colours. This is for the Nirvana song In Bloom:

Happy Saturday everyone!

The Snow Killer*

Heavy snow this morning, which is exciting. It falls in huge clumps.

Fluffball goes out in it. Here is a photo taken by Mum:

Gandalf’s owner brings him round to see us. Kiss him and cuddle him. He loves the snow:

Read my Martin Amis book Inside Story. It’s jolly good: an autobiographical novel with tips on how to write. Can’t wait to return to it in a minute.

Mum sorts out some old sheets and towels to give to the local RSPCA animal shelter where they need them for the animals.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Watch an episode of Medici: there is a Murder. Can’t imagine enjoying another series This Much.

Will have plenty of time to read tomorrow at chemo so I’m looking forward to that. If we can get there in the snow that is.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Death Serves An Ace*

Walk Gandalf in the woods. It is good to see him and cuddle him. He picks up an enormous stick but it is too big for him to carry home.

We let Fluffball out for the first time this morning. He is a good and clever boy and finds his way home. Mum tells him that he can go out again tomorrow but I don’t know if cats understand the concept of tomorrow.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee and stewed apple. Watch the third set of Novak vs Domi. Domi wins the match on the third set tiebreak.

Read a bit of Ultimate Prizes: it’s So Good.

We are going to watch a Silent Witness later.

Fluffball is sleeping on the piano stool.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1939. By Helen Wills and Robert William Murphy. Golden age detective novel.

The Contemporary Astrologer’s Handbook*

Walk Gandalf in the woods today. It is lovely to see him and cuddle him.

Go to the cancer hospital for blood tests and COVID test.

We have an extra Pilates class on Fridays now for Lockdown. So do that.

Read the first seventy pages which is my homework for my course. Course last night is good. Am really enjoying it.

Fluffball spends the day sleeping. Mum takes him to the vet this afternoon and his weight is down to 5.8kg. We can see his ribs. Poor Fluffball. We are so overjoyed to have him home. We just need to feed him up and let him sleep: the precious angel.

I’m watching Hemlock Grove which I love.

Happy Friday everyone!

Misery*

Walk Gandalf. Dad comes with me. Here he is:

Then meet my friend at the Zoo. First we see Asim:

Then we see a Striated Caracara:

The Komodo dragon 🐉 and the Galapagos tortoises 🐢:

The pelicans:

The lions 🦁:

We have lunch and then go over to the other side of the Zoo where we see the African Hunting Dogs:

The okapis, zebra and hippos:

Parentals drive me back to the flat and I have my sleep.

Wake up at five o’clock and it is really dark. Watch Misery which I haven’t seen for about twenty five years. It’s brilliant.

Today I do Pilates and now Suzy is coming to see me.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1987. By Stephen King. Psychological horror thriller.

Midsommar*

Friday afternoon after my audiobook session, Dad drops me back at the flat.

Go on local radio 📻, talking about my missing Fluffball.

Meditate and sleep and then watch Midsommar which is good.

On Saturday I wake up and then do Barre – I’ve brought my weights and bands and little ball back to the flat. Then my friend visits at lunchtime and we sit in the garden.

After my sleep, my Pilates teacher and my Pilates chum and her Weimaraner visit. Here they are:

We go for a walk in Child’s Hill Park, the small park opposite the flat. It is good to see them and they stay until about six thirty in the garden. They bring me a present: a beautiful dusky pink fluffy dressing gown from Marks and Spencer.

Then watch the new Rebecca which is not very good.

This morning I tidy up a bit and wait for Dad to pick me up. Have lunch with the parentals and a walk around the garden with Mum. The pinks are out:

We are going to watch a Silent Witness tonight which means we will be starting it before supper which will be vegetable curry.

It is a nice day now: the sky is blue.

Mum has decided that if Fluffball doesn’t return we can get a new cat from Ragdoll Rescue in January.

Happy Sunday everyone!

*2019. Feature film starring Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, Vilhelm Blomgren and William Jackson. Directed and written by Ari Aster.

Mastiffs, Mystery and Murder*

Walk Gandalf with Mum in the woods. It is so good to see him and cuddle him.

Record my audiobook. It’s all finished now: today was my last session.

I am sad as I really enjoyed reading the book out loud. Feel good because the book is excellent.

Go on BBC Three Counties Radio 📻 to talk about my missing Fluffball. Afterwards a listener called them to say his cat has just had kittens and there’s an orange one I could have. I declined as we are still hoping that Fluffball will turn up. If he doesn’t, we will hopefully get a Ragdoll from Ragdoll Rescue in the spring.

Dad drives me back to the flat. Meditate and sleep.

Am sad to find out that my brother’s friend with breast cancer now has it in her lungs too. Exchange some messages with her on Instagram. Life is cruel.

Am going to read my Rebus book 📖 and have a warm evening in my flat and an early night.

Happy Saturday everyone!

The Cat Who Came To Breakfast*

Wake up at 8.30am this morning after another lovely long sleep. Go for a walk around the block.

Do my Season Of The Witch Tarot Challenge:

Work really hard at Personal Training and my trainer is pleased with me. She drops a Pilates ring round later which will be really useful.

My cousin visits and we sit in the garden. It starts raining but we persevere. It is really good to see him. Fluffball visits us and my cousin can’t believe how enormous and fluffy he is.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have my stewed apple 🍎. Fluffball is in and has barricaded himself under a chair 🪑 with the bed 🛌 on one side and the desk on another side, making it impossible to reach him. Here he is last night:

Mum makes me sweet corn 🌽 fritters – our lovely neighbour brings the mixture round last night.

Now we are going to watch a programme about dogs.

Tomorrow I record my audiobook yay!

Happy Thursday everyone!
