Tarot And Astrology*

Sleep From nine o’clock last night till 6.30am. Wake up and do the Lionharts Tarot And Astrology challenge:

Looks to be a fun one. Need to bring my Tarot and Astrology together and this seems the perfect way. Also need to reread Tarot And Astrology by Corrine Kenner.

There’s no card on day 1: just putting in my birth chart:

Which I need to study as I still don’t know all the planetary glyphs.

Call Hannah and my cousin to wish them happy birthday. They are both happy to hear from me. Hannah is going to Aubrey Beardsley at the Tate. Oh how I wish I could go!

It’s a step up here from my last hospital as the nurses ask me if I would like a shower 🚿 and then help me!

It’s a beautiful sunny 🌞 day. Hope to be let out home today.

Start work on my Etsy Shop but it’s too complicated. Never mind. Do it later.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Touch Me*

Return to bed after Pilates yesterday and sleep from eleven o’clock till three o’clock in the afternoon.

Painventory

  1. Bad Sore Tummy as both the chemo and the new anti-nausea pill 💊 cause terrible constipation
  2. Extreme Fatigue 😴 🛌.
  3. Shoulder pain – probably from Pilates as yesterday we do a lot of Upper Body work.
  4. Terrible Back Pain: caused by the cancer in spine 🦴 😢.
  5. Headache: stress I presume.
  6. Have nasty cold 🤧 and so does Mum.
  7. Chest pain: from lifting weights with chest 🏋️‍♀️.
  8. Sore hands: chemo-side effect.
  9. Dizziness caused by chemo.
  10. Awful nausea from chemo.
  11. Coldness: so much so that Dad agrees to put on heating in my room.

Manage a bit of supper: a quarter of a corn 🌽 on the cob. Return to bed 🛌 to crack on with The Devil 😈 Rides 🐴 Out.

Fall asleep about 10.30pm and wake up at 6.45am so that’s a good night’s sleep. Read The Devil Rides Out. Am two hundred pages in. Have two more in the series to read when I finish this one.

Fluffball doesn’t go out much yesterday as it rains 🌧 All Day. Cuddle him and we give him his stress-related-allergy pill 💊.

Return to bed and read my book. Read more when I wake up this morning 👿 🐎

Today we are visiting Frogmore Lakes for a walk as Sunday is the only day I don’t have a Zoom exercise class. My aunt sends me a beautiful yellow rose 🌹 💛. See top photo. My next door neighbour sends me beautiful roses 🌹 💖 💛 .

It’s 7.24am and Fluffball’s our Patrolling now.

Today brother visits but it won’t be the same as now he’s no longer Shielding we can’t hug 🤗 him and we will have to sit outside in the freezing 🥶 gloom. It’s starting to look a lot like Autumn 🍂 we find acorns when we’re walking Gandalf.

Am listening to The Doors 🚪 for the first time in ages.

*1969. Song by The Doors. Appears on the album The Soft Parade.

Murder With Cucumber 🥒 Sandwiches 🥪*

Photograph the garden yesterday afternoon. Look at the Round Cucumber 🥒!

Manage about half my supper last night: mashed potato 🥔, cheese 🧀, baked beans, purple sprouting broccoli 🥦, broad beans, Romanesco cauliflower. This is pretty good going as have Severe Nausea from yesterday’s chemo.

Sleep from 10.30pm to 6.45am. So good to wake up when it’s light. This fatigue is a chemo side effect of course.

There are some side effects to come:

  1. Hair loss. Have purchased two wigs: a red one and a brown one with red highlights.
  2. Conjunctivitis: let’s hope I won’t get this one.
  3. Blood clots: don’t want.

Any many others of course. Oncologist says this drug is “well-tolerated” but who knows what that means…

So: we give Fluffball his second breakfast and now at 8.24am he’s out Patrolling His Territory.

It’s a cold, grey day and my tiny hand is frozen as I write this.

Pilates at 9.15am rather than Barre at 10.30am as in Pilates can keep up whereas at the moment in Barre I spend whole class lying on floor with feet up on Big Blue Ball: lifting weights; doing shoulder bridges 🌉 and Clams 🦪.

Right. Must prepare self for class.

Happy Saturday everyone!

An Officer And A Spy*

Wake up and do my Tarot For Growth August post. It rained 🌧 all last night and there was thunder and lightning ⛈. When I was in bed there were lightning flashes outside often.

In the photos above you can see the front and back of my A-Level Biology 🧬 folder 📂 which is now my Astrology folder. It’s a very elderly folder now so I tart it up with some sellotape. I message the photos to my Agent as possible covers for In Bloom but she says the images are too detailed and there may be copyright © issues even though those nightclubs are all defunct. There’s a selection of Shutterstock images that we’ll be able to choose from.

Colour in my birth chart from the London School of Astrology. It’s difficult painstaking work and takes all morning. On the plus side it helps so much to see it on A4 rather than just on my phone screen.

It rains on and off all day. Meet my Pilates chum for lunch at Daisy & Co. We sit outside. We only stay there for an hour as it starts raining again. On the not-plus-side the waitresses aren’t wearing masks 😷 so I can’t return there. This is a shame as I enjoy the food: baked beans on brown toast 🍞 with kale 🥬.

Dad picks me up. Meditate and achieve a long sleep this afternoon: from two o’clock till five o’clock.

Eat my mango 🥭, drink coffee and brush some twigs and leaves 🍁 🍃 🍂 out of Fluffball’s tail. Email Seb’s Mum for Fluffball’s birth time as I need to cast his chart. He’s a Virgo ♍️ but I need to know his moon 🌑, rising and so on. Wonder what his Venus and Mars are; his Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn 🪐, Chiron, Uranus and Pluto and his Imum Coeli and Descendant.

I’m grappling with more obscure bits of the chart such as midheaven; North Node; South Node. There are triangles; squares; sextiles and sesquisquares; conjunctions; oppositions trines and quincunxes.

My elephant 🐘 adoption pack arrives from WWF and so does Trapeze: the Simon Mawer book.

I’ve just realised that I’ve read it but that’s fine: I’ll give it to Hannah for her birthday.

Next book will be An Officer And A Spy: the Robert Harris novel about the Dreyfus case. Looking forward to devouring it 🧛‍♀️ but must attempt to string it out a bit.

Happy Friday everyone!

*2013. By Robert Harris. Spy fiction thriller set in 1895 about the Dreyfus case: the most famous miscarriage of justice in history.

Sunflowers And Sabotage*

Do Module 8 of my Medical Astrology and Herbalism Diploma last night which is about my ruling planet: Venus. Settle down to sleep about 10.30pm. Venus energy causes muscles to over-relax: hence my hyper mobility and bowel issues. This stuff really fascinates me: I wonder if I’ll find a way to use it somehow.

Wake up at 2.30am, take codeine, return to sleep till after four o’clock 🕓 so wake up well-rested.

Start Module 9 about Mercury: the planet of communication. I’m spreading out the last two modules as my Equine Psychology materials have not yet arrived.

Next door’s cat doesn’t return from his night time wanderings so Fluffy can’t go out. Sit with him in the dining room. Photograph him with new camera 📷 which is good as the zoom means I don’t have to push the camera in his face and annoy him.

Have breakfast in the garden. It’s warmer today than yesterday: it’s 24 degrees now at almost five o’clock in the afternoon.

Dad takes me to the hospital 🏥 for my blood tests at nine o’clock. He waits in the car: coronavirus rules mean he’s not allowed to come into the hospital 🏥.

At home, I go for a walk around the block. My Pilates and Barre teacher is away and I need to exercise.

The parentals visit the dentist. Have a Zoom meeting with Dr Stein who is pleased that my mood has come down a bit since cutting down the dose of my antidepressant. It is good to talk to him.

My knickers arrive from Marks and Spencer. Speak to MadFatRunner in the garden about planning a trip to see her in September.

Leave a message for the friend from whom we buy our cards. She’s Shielding too so we can’t choose the cards: she chooses them and we will drop a cheque through her letterbox. It’s a shame as I miss her dogs 🐕 and chickens 🐓.

We have lunch 🥗 in the garden. Mum goes to see her bridge chums. I meditate and sleep. When I wake up I have my bath 🛀.

Now I have to post this as my uncle is visiting at five o’clock and then we have our usual Zoom dinner with my parental friends. I’m sitting in the garden on the swinging seat. Fluffball saunters past on his way down the garden.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Cold-Brewed Murder*

Wake up at 3.30am and do a wee. Somehow this wakes Mum up at the other end of the house. She puts me back to bed.

“Why are you awake?” Mum says when she comes in to see me at six o’clock.

“I’m not,” I say, rubbing my eyes 👀.

“You are,” Mum says, opening my curtains. “Why is your window open and why can I smell burning and…

“Oh,” I say, looking at the candles 🕯 on the windowsill. “I blew them out but…”

“Which part of ‘don’t open your window don’t you understand so…”

“I heard the phone ring and saw a wild lion 🦁 in the garden so…”

“You thought Fluffy must be out,” Mum says, walking up the stairs to the kitchen.

Following her, I’m a bit wobbly. I have low blood 🩸 pressure caused by not enough oxygen making it to my lungs which causes dizziness; a sprained ankle – done when I fell out of bed attempting to put on my pyjama trousers and a tremor caused by the morphine.

In the kitchen we make coffee ☕️ and I have iced coffee in my thermos mug:

Fluffball tries to catch the belt of my bathrobe – see above photos.

We have breakfast in the garden whilst watching our robin, blue tits and baby starlings on the feeder.

Dave comes round at eleven o’clock and I do him a Shielding Tarot Reading:

He asks whether he should be trying to acquire a job or concentrate on his business. As you can see from the cards: he is going to be successful and famous in his field – The Star; prosperous – the Seven of Pentacles; happy and content at home – the Ten of Cups; be offered a job by a Leo ♌️ 🦁 woman 👩 – the Queen of Wands 🐱; creative – The Magician or as MadFatRunner calls him: the Magic Ian. The Page of Cups indicates a teenage boy or someone psychic. Dave is a Scorpio ♏️ 🦂 so Cups are his Suit: the Suit of feelings and emotions and love. The preponderance of Major Arcana cards tends to be positive. The Aces of Swords ⚔️ and Cups ☕️ are Yes cards. The World 🌍 indicates travel or having the World in the palm of his hand. The Hanged Man is limbo or stasis.

So it seems that whatever path Dave takes, good things are just around the corner, which is nice.

We have lunch in the garden and then the parentals go out. They don’t return till almost five o’clock.

Fluffy is Still Out.

Supper is Indian Takeaway 🥡 yay 🇮🇳.

Happy Sunday everyone!

By The Pricking Of My Thumbs*

Wake up at 5.15am or so. Watch a Marple I’ve Never Seen: By The Pricking Of My Thumbs. I’m pretty sure this was a Tommy and Tuppence book but the screenwriters inserted Miss Marple into it – as they did with for example Endless Night. Was exciting to discover a New Marple anyway.

Go for a walk and even sit outside for a few minutes.

Speak to Suzy, Mary and another chum.

Find Don’t Tell The Bride on E4 and watch a couple of episodes of that after Frasier.

Blood pressure is a bit low on one reading but then it has sorted itself out by next reading. Wash hair. Doctors visit. Earliest possible date for drain removal is Monday.

Have lunch, meditate and sleep. Wake up and have coffee, talk to Mary again and do Tarot For Growth July Post.

Happy Saturday everyone!

*1968. By Agatha Christie. Tommy and Tuppence mysteries, Book 4.

Marianne*

Wake up about six o’clock this morning and start watching a horror series called Marianne which am enjoying. Unload the dishwasher, hang up the washing and have bath 🛀 and wash hair.

Have pleasant walk with Suzy and Dolly. Here we are:

Then catch train 🚞 to Elstree to meet Mum. We go to the cancer hospital for my injections.

Come home and find this person:

Unpick a matted bit on his chest.

Have a lovely long sleep from two o’clock to five o’clock. Wake up. Mum cuts me up some melon 🍈.

Fluffball visits me in my bedroom. He is under my bed now.

Am helping Mum to make soup later. In Module One of the Mel Wells Intuitive Eaters’ Academy I realise that I need to become more confident in the kitchen: I tend to just heat things up in the microwave or oven and do my vegetables in the sandwich toaster. Used to have a few meals that I could cook and would like to return to doing that. I just have so little energy at the moment.

We pass an advert for the local winter fair in the village and I could do Tarot there but of course it’s when we’re away in Israel. A Christmas fair would be a good place to ply my wares: it’s just a question of finding them.

Have been reading Money: A Love Story and it’s good.

When I return to the flat tomorrow there will be the Next Gen tennis finals to watch yay! Also on the plus side: Rafa will be fit to play at the ATP Tour Finals in London which starts on 10th November at the O2 centre in London.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

*2019. By Samuel Bodin and Quoc Dang Tran. Stars Victoire du Bois, Lucie Boujenah, Tiphaine Daviot and Ralph Amoussou. Directed by Samuel Bodin. Horror television series.

Hereditary*

Go to sleep about ten o’clock last night and sleep all the way through till six thirty this morning, which is good.

Cuddle my Fluffball and give him his third breakfast. He loves his many breakfasts. Hope he is OK as there is a lot of building work going on in the road so he’d better not get mixed up in it.

Have lovely walk with Dolly. It’s the first time I’ve been out of the house since Saturday and it feels good to have a walk. Kiss and cuddle my Dolly.

Mum drops me back at the flat and I watch the first two sets of Tsonga’s match. Then have a small sleep.

We have an election to which to look forward on 12th December. Great.

Edit a bit more of my novel.

Now am watching Hereditary to get self in the mood for Halloween. Am on own in flat so hope it’s not too scary.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

*2018. By Ari Aster. Feature film. Stars Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Gabriel Byrne and Alex Wolff. Directed by Ari Aster.

The Way Through The Woods*

Sleep from 8.30pm all the way through to 5.45am.

At breakfast time, give Fluffball his second breakfast:

Edit the first hundred pages of my novel.

Rest.

Watch an episode of Inspector Morse whilst knitting.

Have managed some eating today: toast with lemon curd for breakfast; a ginger biscuit; some pineapple 🍍; toast with cottage cheese and avocado 🥑 for lunch; baked potato 🥔 with cottage cheese for supper.

Now am going back to bed.

Have to be better by tomorrow as am walking my darling Dolly. Looking forward to seeing her very much.

Fluffball is sleeping on the piano stool. Dad is at chess ♟; Mum is at literary society 📚. Looking forward to returning to bed in a minute.

Haven’t been sick again since yesterday lunchtime which is good.

Happy Monday everyone!
